Tolentino
I was born on July 17, 1977, in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Since childhood, I was involved in Fine Arts thanks to my father, who was a painter. I devoured his books on art and philosophy, which sparked my passion for these subjects.
At the age of fourteen, I was encouraged by my public school teachers to participate in various state competitions, earning numerous recognitions. During high school at eighteen, I actively took part in cultural events and drawing workshops, developing my fluidity and style. I decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts at the University of Guadalajara (2001-2005) and simultaneously completed an Art Diploma at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas (2002-2005), learning from artists such as Juan Carlos Macías Islas, Luís Eduardo González, Sofía Echeverri, and Gil Simoes.
During my studies, I was invited to participate in the Printmaking Workshop led by artists Sergio Garval and Cornelio García at Torre de los Grillos, which defined my commitment and professionalization. I have been part of the committee of various alternative and urban art collectives in Guadalajara, promoting and spreading culture.
I am a single mother, social activist for gender equity, and lover of metaphysics, humanism, nature, science, and the Fine Arts. Currently, I am preparing my next exhibition titled "Tolentino, The Hydra of the Tale."
